WELCOME
Welcome to the website of the Commonwealth Association of Financial Professionals ("CAFP"). The CAFP is a non-profit professional association serving central Virginia for the past 20 years to provide an active and open exchange of concepts and techniques related to Treasury Management. CAFP is a regional affiliate of the national Association for Financial Professionals ("AFP").
Letter from the President 2011- 2012
Greetings from the Board and Officers of the Commonwealth Association for Financial Professionals. As president I am pleased to welcome you to another year of interesting programs and member benefits. For over 20 years CAFP has been providing financial professionals of Central Virginia the opportunity to network and learn through a variety of presentations and speakers.
For the 2011-2012 year we are planning to hold a few different sessions. The first will be our December meeting held on December 15. This meeting will be at the Richmond Federal Reserve Bank where we all get to enjoy the “Fed Experience”. If you have never visited a Federal Reserve Bank I highly encourage you to attend. Who knows, you may walk away with a million dollars! (shredded of course). Also, our February meeting will be a joint meeting with the Virginia chapter of the Financial Executives International. This meeting will be on Tuesday, February 21 and will be a dinner meeting at Willow Oaks Country Club. An executive from Capital One Bank will highlight the session. Please visit back or look for announcements on these events. Through these programs and our regular monthly meetings and Spring Training you will have the opportunity to earn up to 12 Certified Treasury Professional credits, meeting the minimum requirement established by the Association for Financial Professionals.
We will continue to hold most of our monthly meetings at SunTrust Bank headquarters in Richmond. Many of you are familiar with those accommodations and they do a great job hosting our events. At these meetings CAFP offers members the opportunity to hear relevant cash/treasury management issues presented by recognized professionals.
The CAFP is a great way to expand your knowledge and network with your peers, while earning CTP or CPE credits at a reasonable cost. In keeping with the current economic times our membership rates will remain the same this year for the forth consecutive year. To join or renew your membership, please complete the application found on our website and return to CAFP along with your membership fee. Should you have any questions or comments, please contact Asha Doshi, Vice President of Membership at 804-423-1755 or me at 804-225-2648.
Wishing you the best,
Robert J. Schmitt, CCM
President, CAFP
